about us

  • Making a Difference One Child at a Time

  • Since 1996, RFKC-Akron has been creating positive memories for the abused, neglected and abandoned children of Summit County, Ohio. Over the past 15 years we have had the opportunity to serve over 550 kids from the foster system. This year we invited 36 children out for a week long residential camp that included swimming, rock wall climbing, a petting zoo and so much more.

Our next camp will take place July 24-29, 2011. We plan to take 40 children with the help of 20 counselors and 32 support staff (which include a camp grandma and grandpa, a nurse, and licensed counselor) to enjoy a week of positive childhood memories.

Story of the Week

  • What is in Your Hand?
  • Camp starts out pretty much one sided. The children arrive needy. Counselors and staff are there to give the much needed time and attention. Food is plentiful and there is no shortage of activities.
